Cell Assembly Technician

Reports to

Packaging/Assembly Lead

Summary/Objective

Assemble, build, test and package raw materials into finished goods items for sale directly to our customer base.

Essential Functions

  • Read job router and organize cell tables to efficiently and accurately build, assemble and package goods for stock.

· Operate various manual assembly cells or other equipment as the schedule dictates to get product to the shelf on time.

· Correctly log into job orders to report production as the system requires. Simultaneously using the part counters located on the ends of the cell is also a requirement.

· Produce finished goods with zero defects in packaging.

· Keep cell area clean and organized throughout job.

· Assist material handlers unload and move raw materials back tot the original storage location in Plex.

· Follow Inspection processes, frequencies and standards.

· Recognize and react to any packaging or assembly issues during the course of the run.

· Communicate any issues during shift to lead person.

Qualifications

  • 1 year previous work experience with mechanical assembly.

· Ability to utilize small hand tools whether manual, electric or pneumatic.

· Good mechanical aptitude.

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· General computer skills.

· Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to read English.

Working conditions

This position does require Safety Glasses for personal protective equipment. MUST CHECK AND USE POSTED PPE FOR SPECIFIC TASK – POSTED IN JOB AREA

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time position, Days and hours of work week are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30p.m. Willing to work Over-time as needed

This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This position requires standing for ten (10) hours per day.

Summary/Objective

  • Serves as the first point of contact for the customers by providing product and service information. Resolves product and service problems by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs. Communicates effectively with team members within the customer service department as well as across all internal departments.

  • Communicate by phone and email to provide professional answers to internal and external customers regarding Lyman Products.
  • Attracts potential customers by answering product and service questions via phone or email or tickets while also suggesting information about our other products. Ability to professionally control the phone conversation around client requirements and demands.
  • Enter and set up new customers and maintain current customer master information via entry into the PLEX ERP system.
  • Enter and process customer orders, make changes to existing orders as well as enter RMA’s (Return Material Authorizations) according to established department policies and procedures.
  • Provides timely and accurate information on customer order status.
  • Resolves customer problems by clarifying issues, researching and exploring answers and suggesting alternative solutions
  • Make additional/outreach follow up calls to customers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Provides timely feedback to company management regarding product service failures or customer service concerns.
  • Ability to build relationships and promote a positive work environment focused on team development.
  • Partners with the Sales Dept to exceed customer’s service expectation.
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement process with suggestions and ideas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree preferred; Minimum high school diploma/GED or equivalent required

  • Proficient in relevant computer applications: Internet, Microsoft products
  • The preferred candidate will have a general understanding of firearms and reloading and be able to articulate troubleshooting methods as well as the features and benefits of Lyman Products over the phone in a clear and concise manner.

Summary/Objective

Lyman Products is seeking a full-time Shipping Associate in Middletown, CT. Lyman Products Corporation is a leader in the exciting and growing shooting sports industry. This position will be responsible for preparing and processing all orders for shipping, for inspecting all items and counts to meet the order requirements, and ensuring all items are safely and effectively prepared based on company or customer specifications/standards. Lyman Products takes customer satisfaction seriously and depends heavily on the packer as they last line of defense when it comes to inventory/item errors before delivery.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure that picked items are not damaged
  • Report any damaged items to supervisor and make sure that they are replaced
  • Ensure that items are packed in a safe manner by using packing materials
  • Make sure that packed cartons are sealed and labeled appropriately
  • Ensure that all accompanying documentation is present with packed items
  • Operate forklift to transport packed items to the shipping pallet
  • Following safety guidelines to ward off potential damage
  • Assist in loading packed items onto delivery trucks and make sure that they are stacked properly
  • Prepare shipment papers in accordance to guidelines provided by the company
  • Make arrangements for pickup of shipments prior to delivery of the pallet
  • Arrange for adequate supply of shipping materials
  • Ensure that all work areas are clean and maintained
  • Enter order and shipment information in company provided database
  • Follow scheduled assigned clean up duties
  • Keep work area clean, neat and orderly

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Completed High school or GED
  • Analyzing information, Inventory control, Lifting

Physical requirements

  • Required to stand for extended periods of time
  • Lift heavy objects on a regular basis, must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Operate of forklifts and cherry pickers

Other duties and tasks including but not limited to

  • Perform regular material warehouse audits to ensure that material is undamaged and maintained neatly throughout the warehouse
  • Participate in cycle count, report findings
  • Assist in picking orders
  • Additional duties as assigned by your supervisor/manager/lead
