Summary/Objective

Lyman Products is seeking a Sales Representative..

Lyman Products is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual for its Mark 7 Reloading division located in Fort Myers, FL. This position will be responsible for direct sales efforts for Mark 7’s entire product line.  The position is ideal for a goal-oriented candidate with inside sales experience, strong personal skills, technical aptitude, and the desire to pursue a career in the exciting Shooting Sports Industry.

The Preferred Candidate will have experience and/or a good understanding of the ammunition, firearms, and shooting sports industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work directly within the Sales Team, taking on inside sales responsibilities, order entry process, order management, and communication with customers.
  • Coordinate all sales efforts within the Mark 7 Team, and with operations within the Connecticut facility when needed, to effectively meet or exceed monthly revenue and order goals.
  • Work across departments (Production, Finance, Shipping, Tech Service, Quality) to assure that established processes are being followed, order fulfilment is meeting customer expectations, and that Mark 7’s products & services are resulting in high customer satisfaction levels.
  • Resolve customer issues and maintain customer satisfaction levels through timely and clear communication (verbal and written).
  • Develop and send quotes, enter & process customer orders, make changes to existing orders, and enter RMA’s according to established department policies and procedures within the company’s ERP system (PLEX).
  • Manage customer inquiries and quotes through the company’s CRM system (ZOHO), provide oversight of all sales-related activity, and present analysis of such to management periodically.
  • Collaborate with management and marketing on the design and implementation of promotions, advertising, website, digital outreach, and campaigns, providing input as needed.
  • Work with management on the development and maintenance of special reports and metrics to be used as tools to manage the business and develop strategies.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement to business process with suggestions and ideas, while taking on ownership of such.
  • Build relationships and promote a positive work environment, focused on teamwork and achieving common company goals.
  • Research and attend legacy trade shows and those with new market potential.
  • Manage customer inquiries and quotes through sales CRM software, providing oversight, reporting and transparency of all sales related activity.

  • Detail oriented with outstanding interpersonal and communication across all channels
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Developed presentation skills and ability to generate clear reporting
  • Team player with the ability to work across all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others to achieve high-performance goals
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and with ERP/CRM Systems
  • Adaptable to changing events in an office environment.
  • Reliable and fully committed to the success of the company
  • Willing to travel if required.  Travel is expected to be minimal (e.g., trade shows).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 -10 years’ experience in a business or related sales development role
  • Although not a requirement, having a general understanding of firearms, ammunition, and the reloading process would be of benefit in the role.
  • Successful track record of creating and implementing sales plans
  • Three to five years of sales experience
  • Ability to analyze sales data and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Experience maintaining sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Office enviorment, business/casual dress. This is a full-time position, Days and hours of a typical work week are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm., with one hour allocated for lunch.  Additional working hours may be requested due to business conditions.  See the company handbook for recognized paid holidays, time-off policies, and other details.

  • Stand, walk and sit frequently
  • Ability to use the phone effectively for large portions of a workday
  • Ability to use a computer and accessories effectively for large portions of a workday
  • Vision abilities required to read and interpret documents and work on a computer monitor.  
  • Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds occasionally
