Set-up Technician for Vertical Machining Centers
POSITION SUMMARY: Set-up and prepare vertical machining centers with 4th axis rotary tables to transform steel, aluminum,
and casting parts to close tolerances under minimal supervision with keen attention to detail by performing the following duties.
Set Up Vertical machining centers from work orders and prints
Prepare machine for 1st piece inspection
Have inspection method sheet in place before starting any job.
Review and ready all gages listed on the inspection method sheet in order to properly inspect the work.
Establish gauging frequency and training of operator to run part.
Participate in daily preventative maintenance of all CNC machines.
Take a proactive approach to continuous improvements, quality, and safety.
Communicate across all shifts. Keep open communication.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
5-10 years previous work experience on Vertical Machining Centers.
Ability to read and edit programs if required.
Ability to set up machining centers through the use of standard tools, DNC system and set up sheets.
Select, tram and secure machining fixtures, rotary attachments, cutting tools and accessories.
Working knowledge of blue prints and inspection tools.
Good mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools.
High School Diploma or equivalent or trade school completion.
Good computer and math skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to read and write English.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of any other CNC equipment a plus.
Willing to work Over-time as needed

Good management skills & organizational skills with the ability to develop people and communicate on all Company levels.
Monitors activities and efficiency during receiving, picking and shipping activities.
Planning and coordinating of shipments to a diversified customer base that includes nationally recognized retailers.
Check shipping documents for thoroughness and completeness and prepare additional documentation when necessary.
Controls inventory levels by conducting cycle counts.
Ensures inventory is properly labeled and stored in the correct inventory location.
Manage the movement of material internally and externally to outside processing.
Evaluates warehouse operations, reducing operating costs in warehouse design, product flow, receiving and distribution process management.
Strong interaction with Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing and Production.
Responsible for workers scheduling and attendance, training workers and conducting performance reviews.
Reviews and approves time cards.
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in Warehouse and Distribution, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
Experience in ERP systems. Plex Manufacturing ERP System preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills required to provide direction and supervision in a team environment.
Must have Knowledge of Electronic Data Interface (EDI) order processing.
Excellent MS Office skills required with the emphasis on excel.
